In light of the Republican’s decision to immediately fill Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s Supreme Court seat, how should Democrats respond? Assuming Joe Biden wins the election, and Democrats flip the senate, should they add more Supreme court judges, consider statehood for DC, some other strategy?

If the Democrats win the White House and Senate there should be strong consideration to adding two seats to the Supreme Court. Currently 4 of the remaining eight judges were nominated by presidents who lost the popular vote, but won the election because of the electoral college. That implies that the highest court in the land does not reflect the will of the people. Adding two seats would give the court balance that better represents the country. I also think the filibuster should be eliminated since both parties seem to follow the rule that only the will of the majority is relevant.

My view is that, given the way McConnell held up Obama's judicial appointments for Trump's benefit, 'court-packing' has already occurred.
