For the past few years, I have been working on a memoir that recounts my career in finance. It focuses on how my journey began in Arkansas in the early eighties, where I was one of the few African American finance professionals in the state. During my time in Arkansas, I witnessed some pretty remarkable events. So, instead of the latest political outrage or economic issue, I’ve decided to share a lesser-known piece of Arkansas's financial history I cover in my manuscript. Unless you are familiar with the state's ecosystem, I can just about guarantee that you have never heard this story before.
