A Quick Note of Thanks

Good morning, and Happy Friday!

Hopefully, everyone had an amazing holiday (with minimal weight gain). As we enter 2025, I’d like to take a moment to thank all of you for your support of this newsletter.

Next month marks five years since I started writing my opinions on Substack. The first time I clicked the “publish” button, I blasted an essay out to a few hundred contacts and held my breath. A bunch of those emails bounced back, and almost as many unsubscribed.

But to my surprise, a few people, even some who disagreed with me, liked what I had to say. So they stayed. Since then, The Journeyman has grown from a little over 200 subscribers in April 2020 to more than 7,000 as of this writing. About 70% of you subscribed in 2024.

Anyway, enough with the numbers. I just wanted to say thank you. The next couple of months (if not years) are sure to be tough for a lot of us. Through it all, I hope I can continue to earn your trust and support.
